Portland Office Openings
About the role
Certa Building Solutions is looking for a mid-level consulting position with the opportunity for advancement, with solid project management and problem-solving skills applicable to both new construction and existing building projects.
The role will also require travel to assist other staff members on projects located within the region, but outside of the Portland metro area.

About the role
Certa Building Solutions is seeking an Architectural Revit Technician for our operations in Portland, Oregon. This position is responsible for taking conceptual designs by senior staff and producing design packages with technical details focusing on the building envelope (roofs, exterior walls, fenestration, waterproofing, etc.).
About you
The successful candidate will bring a passion for consultation in the built environment, including an overall desire to grow their building envelope knowledge and be part of a rapidly growing company servicing clients in several climate zones.
Tasks and attributes expected of this position are as follows:
+ Conceptual Design
+ Produce preliminary drawings at the direction of senior staff
+ Understand and adhere to project goals
+ Detail focused
+ Uses Certa internal standards
+ Coordinates and checks own work carefully to minimize all deficiencies, errors, and omissions
+ Maintains discipline project drawing files for assigned projects
+ Meets scheduled milestone dates
+ Utilizes time efficiently
Education/experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Technical associates degree preferred
+ Previous experience in architectural and/or structural detailing
+ Technical training in applicable discipline design
Specific knowledge, skills, and certifications
+ Proficient in the use of Autodesk Revit

Florida Office Openings
About the role
Certa Building Solutions is seeking a licensed engineer focused on building envelope consultation, with dedicated experience with multifamily existing structures. The role will include building envelope assessments, design, peer reviews, reporting, or both new construction and rehabilitation projects in a dynamic and evolving sector of practice.
+ Participate in design meetings with existing building clients and architects on new construction projects
+ Interface with senior Certa staff regarding market trends, building science philosophy, and project resource sharing
About you
The successful candidate will have an active engineering license (PE) and reside in the state of Florida. Candidates who are licensed in other jurisdictions and willing to relocate to central Florida and seek licensure through reciprocity are encouraged to apply as well. Candidates must have an active license in another jurisdiction and have an established NCEES record.
+ B.S. degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
+ Minimum of four years of direct industry experience. Previous experience with firms offering envelope consultation is preferred
+ Experience with thermal and hygrothermal modeling systems (THERM, Heat 3, WUFI) is not required but welcome.
+ Excellent communication and writing skills
+ Ability to convey ownership/stakeholder goals to the Certa project team
+ Understanding of ASCE-7 (components and cladding)
+ Experience with ASTM standards specific to envelope systems
