Nestled on its hillside site with a brilliant view of the Willamette Valley and Mount Hood, Sorrento Bluff Apartments has been a sought-after place to live in the Murrayhill neighborhood since its construction in the early 1980’s. However, its contemporary style and era of construction had not allowed it to avoid the host of problems that face properties of this vintage. In mid-2018, Certa was engaged to assist our client plan and execute a repair strategy for numerous failed building components.
Realizing the property needed a visual update, in addition to performance upgrades, Certa proposed a holistic design solution to the many challenges facing Sorrento Bluff Apartments. The result is a property with buildings re-clad using the latest design and construction techniques, enlarged decks that showcase the materials used, glass railings that maximize the view, and an aesthetic both modern and respectful of the site on which it sits. With our team of consultants and partners, we’ve succeeded in our goal of making Sorrento Bluff Apartments ready for the next 40 years of being a sought-after place to live.
